RIFI Final Conference, Bucharest, 30-31 May 2011
The Final Conference of the project Research Infrastructures: Foresight and Impact (RIFI) will take place on 30th and 31st of May 2011 in Bucharest, Romania.
The project aims at developing an integrated framework for the identification of Research Infrastructure’s (RI’s) investment opportunities and methods for socio-economic impact assessment of new RIs.
RIFI project started with a review of methods currently employed for socio-economic impact assessment of RIs. After that, the project’s consortium developed a preliminary version of a holistic methodology containing foresight elements intertwined with impact assessment. This version was then tested and validated through six case studies on different RI projects of pan-European, regional and national interest. The final goal of the project was the development of an integrated version of – Foresight Enriched RI Impact Assessment Methodology. It aims to shed light on some of the blurred areas of the possible impact of including Central, East and South-East European countries in pan-European infrastructures.
This event will host the official launch of the FenRIAM.
The RIFI project is funded by the 7th Framework Program, Capacities – Research Infrastructure. The project’s team consists of 13 institutions stemming from four countries: Bulgaria, Italy, Romania and Spain. The coordinator is the Romanian Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and innovation Funding (UEFISCDI).
